Brent Health Matters
Brent Council commissioned Ubuntu Pledge to deliver a tailored train-the-trainer programme for Brent Health Matters staff, sharing insights from our experience with the NHS App.

Project overview
Following the success of the NHS App pilot, Brent Health Matters commissioned Ubuntu Pledge to deliver tailored training for their staff using a train-the-trainer approach.
The aim was to equip frontline professionals to act as digital health ambassadors, so that people already trusted within the community could improve access to and uptake of the NHS App.
What we did
- Delivered three bespoke sessions: one with Brent Libraries and two with the Brent Health Matters team.
- Walked staff through the NHS App's core features: appointment booking, prescriptions and medical records.
- Shared real case studies from the pilot, covering the challenges that come up most and what actually works.
- Coached staff on building trust with digitally hesitant or excluded residents.
- Gave practical guidance on training others, tailored to staff roles and the communities they serve.
- Created custom training resources and documentation so teams could repeat or adapt the training themselves.
Results
25+ staff members trained across three interactive sessions
Greater capacity to support residents with digital health tools and the NHS App
Practical, replicable training materials produced for future community roll-out
