NHS App Training 2nd Commission

Project overview

Building on the pilot and the staff training programme, NHS North West London commissioned Ubuntu Pledge for a second, much larger rollout of NHS App training across multiple boroughs, with 75 tailored sessions over four months. Where the first phase focused on Brent and RBKC, this phase extended delivery into Harrow, widening digital inclusion work across North West London.

What we did

  • Delivered an expanded NHS App programme across Brent, RBKC and Harrow for both residents and frontline staff.
  • Partnered with 26 local organisations and delivered 61 in-person sessions in trusted community spaces.
  • Trained 1,080 people in total: RBKC 154 staff and 188 residents
  • Harrow 126 staff and 205 residents
  • Brent 32 staff and 375 residents.
  • Covered booking GP appointments, ordering repeat prescriptions and viewing medical records, alongside password recovery, unfamiliar devices and privacy concerns.
  • Used translated guides, printed step-by-step instructions and real-life scenarios to keep sessions inclusive and practical.
  • Produced training materials so the staff we trained could confidently train others.
